Sunriver

The final lag of our vacation adventure was in Sunriver, spending a week at my grandparents' house with my parents. The weather was awesome, which made all of our activities that much better. In fact, most of our days we spent more time outdoors than indoors. To me, that is the BEST way to spend a summer vacation!! We biked, hiked, rowed, sailed, swam, ran, walked, and played. And if we weren't doing one of those things, we were most likely sleeping, reading, playing cards, or eating.

We got Ellie a life jacket before we left on vacation in order for her to be able to go in my dad's row boat. For those of you who still may be worried about a toddler in a boat, the entire lake (Sparks Lake) averaged about 4 feet deep, there was no wind, and no wake due to no motor boats on the lake. Couldn't have been safer! :)

All that being said, Ellie was still a little nervous about being on the boat.

Justin and I got to go on a mini-hike while Grandma watched Ellie. It was great!

Ellie's first bike ride(s):

Ellie LOVED riding in the bike trailer and wearing her special hat (helmet). Let me tell you, pulling a bike trailer on a one-speed bike up hills is NOT easy! I was thankful to pass this onto anyone else. :) The best part about riding bikes was the stop along the way to see the horses. Ellie LOVED the horses! I kept trying to get her to tell Justin that she wants a pony. Haha!

Ellie LOVES to swim! Seriously, the girl is a water dog. Here we are playing in the water while dad and Justin sail.

See my dad and Justin in the sailboat behind Ellie and I? This was on Cutless Lake, which was pretty windy - providing a great sail. It was so much fun!
